What an awesome interview to get our Blog's back up and running. We sat down with Ollie Foster from Great British Barber Bash to talk about anything and everything. Enjoy the read guys...
"Hey Guys! Firstly, I'd just like to start by saying, it was rad to come and see the store for the first time the other week, and link again! HOW SICK IS THE SHOP?!"
- Hey Ollie. Firstly how is everything going and have you had the chance to take time out of your busy schedule to have a rest of Christmas and New Year?
So with Christmas and New Year being our busiest time of year, its hard to take time out as all of us are flat out. We take a slight break from education in December, to focus on our shop. But I managed to get away to Kraków, with my fiancé and Mum for a few days which was WICKED! Getting back into the swing of things now and busy as ever. I find January to be quite a good business month as everyone has routine.
- Yeah maybe 2021 wasn’t the greatest year for a lot of people but how did you find it overall? And if you could pick one stand out moment of that year, what would it be, personal or work related?
Yes, 2021 Wasn't a great year for most. However, for me, it was one of best to date, if not THE BEST! I proposed to the love of my life, which was stand out the best day of my life. It's been a long time coming, but managed to grab my balls and do it! Work wise, its been another amazing year with Great British Barber Bash, delivering our education across the UK. We didn't manage to get international in 2021 with COVID, but its still been GREAT! I was lucky enough to finally work with my product range of choice... OSMO! I've been linked with them for years, but we finally connected fully and 2022 is going to be huge!
- So you are currently smashing it with Great British Barber Bash! Could you tell us a bit more about the work they do and what it is like on a day to day basis doing what you do?
The Great British Barber Bash, is broader than you think... Not only do we put on massive shows around the UK & Ireland, we deliver education most weekends, either bespoke to salons or 1 day or 2 day workshops in some amazing cities. Education has always been my passion. Before I was a barber I was a primary school PE Teacher.
- We are buzzing to be working with you and the Barber Bash guys, but we wanted to ask what it is you love about Bones Club/Eighty6 Clothing?
Working with you guys has been so sick so far! For me its all about quality, its not often you find a brand that you literally love EVERYTHING! From hats down to socks its all SICK! But its not only clothes, its also CROOKED CREW gowns! HOW SICK ARE THE DESIGNS?!?!?! I love them. Our barber shop is called Number 47 Barbers, and we have always loved the FRESHLY LAUNDERED look... We change our gowns every couple of days as it keeps it fresh so with so many awesome designs its easy to draw the eye! But most of all, you guys are all so approachable and friendly, its all in the personal touches!
Now we wanted to ask a few more less serious questions for a bit of fun:
- What is the best and worst purchases you have ever made?
Best purchase I've ever made has to be my iPad I literally take it everywhere...
And the worst... I remember saving up all of my money as an 8 year old for a tamagotchi, and the little fucker died on the first night and I threw it out my bedroom window because it was bleeping! £40 wasted... LITTLE BASTARD!

- Which fictional character would be the most boring to meet in real life?
I'd love to meet Peter Griffin and go on the Raz for a few days in Ayia Napa for a laugh!
- What have messed up/done and nobody has found out it was you still to this day?
So I stole a girls phone in high school, wasted £20 credit sending raunchy messages to everyone in her phone book, and no one would own up and I'm still holding that one... but guess its out there now haha!
- If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask?
I love conspiracies... so I'd say most of them! But if I had to narrow it down to just one, it would be what's really hiding in Area 51! I love space and shit like that so I guess it's anything to do with aliens and space!
